Starting In Forex

Many investors new to Forex get seduced by illusions of grandeur and don’t take the necessary steps to be a successful trader. If you’re new to Forex here’s five things you can do to prepare yourself for profitable trading.

1 – Start with a demo account – Most brokers offer a free demo account when you sign up for their services. The demo account is a great way for a new trader to understand the rhythms of the market without exposing himself to any risk. Newcomers can simulate all the activities of a trading day while learning the ins and outs of the market. It’s a tool that many veteran traders wished they had access to when they first started.

2 – Find a good broker – This may sound like an obvious piece of advice but it can be harder than you think. Unlike other markets, not all brokers on the Forex market are regulated which means that they tend to be more unscrupulous than their colleagues. Some Forex brokers put their profits ahead of their clients. Fortunately, there are resources available on the internet that can help you find a trustworthy broker.

3 – Start small – Once you’re comfortable with what you’ve learned on the demo account and found a broker you can count on, you can then make your first foray into Forex. The best way to do that is to start trading with small amounts of money. That way, as you learn the ropes, you won’t expose yourself to unnecessary risks.

4 – Find a system that works – You will read and hear about all the latest and greatest systems on how to make money on Forex. But you need to find the one that doesn’t make all the promises, but instead matches your needs and schedule.

5 – Keep a diary of all your trades – It might sound silly but when you write down the reasons you make a trade you’ll be surprised at how quickly you pick up on your own patterns. You should also write down all the factors that went into your decision to make a trade, from the emotional to the financial. More information is always better.
